About DAMS

DAMS Stands for: Dental Amalgam Mercury Solutions

WHO WE ARE:  Our non-profit organization, DAMS, discusses in plain language about the mercury, the fluoride and other toxic pitfalls in dentistry. Then we describe for you what dental materials and practices might be a better way to go. You and everyone else deserve to know the truth about the toxic pitfalls in the usual dentistry and what to look for in the more scientifically based, health centered dentistry, and what is often called “biological” dentistry or “holistic” dentistry….. Shouldn’t every dentist be avoiding mercury and other toxic chemicals in his/her dental practice? We think so! We can help you find higher quality biological dentists in your state or country.

WHAT WE CAN DO FOR YOU:  Our web site will give concise explanations based on our decades of studying unsafe dentistry practices and helping people understand these important issues. This web site is aimed to give mainly an
overview, with fairly short discussions of the topics covered, and what can be done about them. Then, you will probably want to contact us with follow up questions, request our FREE Information Packet, or buys some books, DVDs or get in-depth articles on topics you are looking into.

Mercury Filling Toxicity

Picture
In America and most other countries, toxic materials and harmful practices are still commonly used in dentistry and, sad to say, the federal and state regulators do not protect us from mercury and other toxic hazards. While mercury is the one that probably inflicts the most harm, copper, silver, palladium and cadmium are still used in dental materials. The most commonly used dental filling, found in over 100 million Americans, is the “silver” filling, which is also called a “silver amalgam,” or just “amalgam” filling. This metallic filling is a grave danger, as it is about half mercury and it gives off the patient a significant mercury exposure, typically more than mercury from food, water and air combined. Based the mounting scientific and clinical evidence of harm to children and to people of all ages these mercury fillings should be banned in every country of the world.

Fluoride and Fluoridation
Fluoride is another poison that shouldn’t be used in dentistry, but is. Fluoride is another poison that is commonly used in dentistry is fluoride and, again, scientific research and clinical evidence shows that fluoride use is a big mistake. Water fluoridation has no benefits and is largely a scan, and a very harmful one at that.

Safe Removal of Mercury Fillings

Why a “biological” dentist is needed in order to assure that the mercury amalgam filling removal be safe.
A great many people who contact DAMS have made the mistake of letting a “regular” dentist be the one to remove the amalgam fillings. Unsafe removal often results in a worsening of symptoms and maybe even the appearance of new symptoms and new disorders. Don’t make that mistake!
